NFU Mutual has been operating from Agriculture House, Langley Burrell SN15 4LQ for over 20 years. Agriculture House is thought to have been an old water pumping station. This was possibly to supply water to Harris’ Bacon Factory at Calne. It was also linked to Langley Brewery, part of which (the Langley Tap) is still in use.

Managers Jonathan Price and Mark Constable have an expert team to advise on motor, home and commercial insurance as well as financial planning.

LANGLEY GREEN

Langley Green is steeped in history. The rear of the building dates back to the 12th Century, it was the home of Maud Heath in 1400s; her bequest provided for the Causeway from Wick Hill to Chippenham Clift. Three centuries later the front section of the house burnt down but was rebuilt by W Wood with a Georgian façade in 1840.

Today, Langley Green, owned by Miss Harriet Fairfax, is home to four local businesses.

Fairfax Antiques, Fireplaces and Reclamation, which deals with both trade and retail antiques, has been established in the parish for 35 years. The business is run by the owner, Miss Harriet Fairfax.
Although the house is not open to the public, items available for sale can be viewed on the website.

Holiday Lets Langley Green has a Tudor Cottage (Dairy Cottage) and Edwardian Barn conversion (Kine Cottage) within the grounds. These have been available as holiday lets for the past 10 years, 3 years ago E Dudley took on the management of the business and can be contacted for bookings through the website ≈`

Fairfax Alpacas The newest business at Langley Green is Fairfax Alpaca Ltd which was established 5 years ago. Alpaca wool is of high quality and the business specialises in breeding these appealing animals. Customers may contact Harriet on 01249 655899 to make an appointment.
